  The 3rd Asia-Pacific Summit on Gender-based Violence

The 3rd Asia-Pacific Summit on Gender-based Violence will focus on the theme ‘Turning Laws into Actions: Eliminating Gender-based Violence in Asia-Pacific’. The Summit is jointly organized by Association Concerning Sexual Violence Against Women (ACSVAW), Equality Rights Project of Faculty of Law, the University of Hong Kong and Taiwan Coalition Against Violence. It brings together both strategic international organizations and regional organizations across the Asia-Pacific to share – innovative solutions and exchange good practices in combatting different forms of gender-based violence (GBV) and; build a regional network to enforce the national commitment and foster inter-regional collaboration.⁣⁣

The Summit, over a span of three days, will feature over 30 speakers from India, Korea, Nepal, Myanmar, Singapore, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China to share their experiences and discuss on below topics throughout six sessions: ⁣⁣

1️⃣ Law and practice in ending gender-based violence from global and regional perspectives⁣⁣
2️⃣ State and institutional responsibilities for greater access to justice⁣⁣
3️⃣ Moving towards survivor-centered approaches ⁣⁣
4️⃣ Digital and image-based sexual violence: challenges and ways forward⁣⁣
5️⃣ Innovative strategies for preventing gender-based violence⁣⁣
6️⃣ Strengthening connections and escalating momentum in ending gender-based violence⁣⁣
